"I am not a teacher,

           but an awakener."

                                                - Robert Frost

"I couldn't agree more with this quote from late American poet and winner of four Pulitzer Prizes, Robert Frost.   While Frost was identifying with the possibility of a collaboration between the reader and the writer (poet), it actually applies to the context of teaching.

The teacher, like a poet, is not alone.  The poet-reader connection is akin to the teacher-student interaction.

A true teacher, say a Physics teacher, does not teach Physics but teaches a student how to understand Physics and spark off an 'awakening' of the subject in the student.

The pedagogical content knowledge is as important, if not more, than the knowledge of content."
